What some call a 17-year problem, we call delicious!
For best results, catch ‘em while they’re fresh out of the ground. They will be easier to catch and more tender!
- 1 lb Cicada nymphs (the squishy white ones are best)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Approx. 10 bamboo skewers
Preheat grill to med-high heat. Rinse cicadas and pat dry. Toss them in olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Carefully insert the bugs lengthwise onto the skewers, leaving an inch or so on either end of each. Roast until brown and crunchy, turning occasionally. Bon Appétit!
