Southern Belle
I am southern belle.
Made up of many complexities:
unreadable, impetuous,
frivolous, unpredictable,
and oozing with old south charm.
In disagreeable situations,
manners prevail.
I defend the helpless,
cry with the grieving
and pray for the needy.
Make no mistake,
I am spunky and headstrong
with a will of iron.
Oh, and by the way, I like
my tea unsweetened
