Balance
the early autumn night sends its chills
tugging playfully through my hair
as I bathe my callous feet
in heat soaked rock stubbornly
holding onto the sun
a balance my body can’t understand
it shivers all through me
an owl asks who, an impossible question
that reverberates through his voice
like a tiny engine slowly rolling over
but may never start
a sound thats carried away along a breeze
as far as time will take it
I stare into the all seeing eye of a full moon
feel the ebb and flow pull
a tidal heartbeat
for now I won’t try to answer
but just wait and see what
the breeze brings me
